FRANKFORT – Lincoln-Way North High School faculty member Julia Johnson in Frankfort has been nominated for the University of Saint Francis Teacher of the Month Award by a former student currently attending the university.

Johnson teaches art and reading at Lincoln-Way North High School and has worked for the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 for 18 years. Previously. she taught at Lincoln-Way East High School where she also served as a freshman pom coach, head pom coach and varsity winter pom coach.

She also spent several years volunteering in the Flossmoor Community Church Youth Group. She grew up in Illinois, Johnson earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art education at University of Illinois Champaign- Urbana and her Master of Arts degree in arts education, also from the University of Illinois, Champaign- Urbana.
