CREST HILL – A masked gunman held up an athletic wear store Saturday in Crest Hill.
Deputy Police Chief Ed Clark said about 8 p.m. the man came into City Sports in the Hillcrest Shopping Center on Larkin Avenue and approached the register.
“He displayed a weapon to the owner and demanded money,” Clark said.
The bandit came into the store alone and was described as a black man who wore a mask over his face.
After taking cash, the robber also took the store owner’s Mitsubishi and drove away. No one was injured during the robbery.
Clark said Sunday the investigation was “very active with some good leads.”
