JOLIET – The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s annual expo is Friday and Saturday at the mall.
More than 80 exhibitors will have booths this weekend at the Louis Joliet Mall, 3340 Mall Loop Drive.
This is the 17th year that the chamber has had its annual expo at the mall, a venue valued for the thousands of shoppers expected to be in the mall on a February weekend.
“It is generally at this time of year a busy mall weekend,” chamber President Mary Jaworski said. “It’s a great place to be. The mall management has been absolutely wonderful to work with.”
Mall management has told the chamber that 4,000 to 5,000 people a day can be expected to be at the Louis Joliet Mall during the weekend.
“I think the best part about it is that it’s got the built-in traffic, and it’s a great time,” Jaworski said. “In February, people are looking for things to do.”
The expo will run during mall store hours, which are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days.
In addition to the booths staffed by Joliet area businesses, organizations and government agencies, the expo will feature an entertainment stage. Performances will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Dance troupes and school bands will dominate the stage for most of the weekend. The Joliet American Legion Band will perform 5 p.m. Saturday.
