JOLIET – Join the Louis Joliet Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution as it honors veterans who served during the Vietnam era with a special commemorative flag raising ceremony.
The ceremony will be 7:30 a.m. March 29 at the Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago St. Joliet.
It will include opening remarks from Mary Erhardt, regent of Louis Joliet Chapter NSDAR, and Cyndi Valencia, Illinois State Organization DAR Service for Veterans chairperson; Herbert Brooks, pastor at St. Johns Baptist Church in Joliet will lead the prayer.
The Louis Joliet Chapter NSDAR will also participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. The public is welcome to join in.
At 5 p.m. the commemorative flag at the Will County Office will be lowered. The ceremony will include remarks from Erhardt and Valencia, and taps by Post 1080, Joliet.
