Writers: Attend the first Indie Author Day at Plainfield Library on Oct. 8

PLAINFIELD – The Plainfield Public Library will host the very first Indie Author Day for writers on Oct. 8.

It will begin at 10 a.m. in the Library, located at 15025 S. Illinois St. in downtown Plainfield. Writers from any experience level can attend this event, which will offer inspiration, information and advice about publishing.

Indie Author Day is a national event making its debut this year, with libraries from across the country hosting programs for their local writing communities. The goal is simple: to bring the indie writing community together and offer resources to help writers succeed.

Events planned for Indie Author Day in Plainfield include a Q&A session with traditional and self-published authors at 10 a.m.; an author fair at 11 a.m.; and a digital gathering with industry leaders at 1 p.m.

Registration for the Q&A session is required at www.plainfieldpubliclibrary.org or 815-327-2515.

Today, the opportunities are endless for indie writers. One opportunity is the library’s Self-E program, which allows library cardholders to check out books written by self-published authors.
