Joliet man dies after being trapped under machinery at work

JOLIET – A Joliet man has died after a workplace incident, according to information released Thursday by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

Robert L. Dykes, 55, appears to have been trapped beneath heavy machinery at his workplace, according to the coroner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at 12:17 p.m. in the 100 block of Connell Avenue in Rockdale.

The Rockdale Police Department is investigating, according to the coroner’s office, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
