Minooka resident graduates from basic military training

U.S. Air Force Airman Colten J. Keenan graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

U.S. Air Force Airman Colten J. Keenan and U.S. Air Force Airman Jacob E. Close recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Keenan earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Barbara and Dennis Keenan of Frankfort. He graduated in 2014 from Lincoln-Way North High School, Frankfort.

Close is the son of James and Cheryl Close of Shorewood. He is also the brother of Andrew Close, Jeremy Close and Kristi Kennedy. He graduated in 2016 from Minooka Community High School, Minooka.
