Braidwood deputy police chief placed on leave

BRAIDWOOD – The deputy police chief of Braidwood has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

A source said Michelle Soucie is being investigated for "payroll issues." Chief Nick Ficarello confirmed Monday that Soucie has been on paid leave for about a month.

"She is under administrative investigation after an allegation was brought to our attention," Ficarello said.

Ficarello and City Attorney Brian Kopman both said they were unable to comment further on the matter. No criminal charges had been filed as of Monday afternoon, according to court records.

Soucie has been with the department since 1998 and was named deputy chief in 2015.
