Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher will be officially hosting the grand opening of Bowlero Romeoville from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 11.

Located at 735 N. Center Blvd., the redesigned venue features 48 lanes of blacklight bowling, laneside loungers and high-definition video walls that broadcast everything from rock concerts and sporting events to classic family films. 

Bowlero Romeoville is more than 60,000 square feet and will be open starting at 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, at 1 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. on weekends.

Sunny Days In-Home Care opens in Plainfield

Husband and wife entrepreneurs Bob and DeAnna Spoerl recently launched their new business, Sunny Days In-Home Care.

Operating in Plainfield and serving the surrounding area, the nonmedical in-home care agency aims to improve the lives of the growing senior population in the western suburbs.

In addition to 24-hour in-home care services for seniors, Sunny Days In-Home Care also assists veterans, people with disabilities, people in medical recovery or rehabilitation, individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, and those in need of respite care. Services include companionship, wheelchair transfers, meal preparation, grooming assistance, light housekeeping, incontinence care and many more.

New Lenox Fire Protection District gets grant

Dryer Vent Wizard awarded a grant to the New Lenox Fire Protection District recently, one of eight such grants awarded.

The New Lenox Fire Protection District said the DVW grant is being used to help fund a portable safety house and trailer that can be taken to schools for fire safety demonstrations.

Executive director named at The Cottages

Mark Heuer has been named executive director of The Cottages of New Lenox, a Charter Senior Living Community. Located in New Lenox, The Cottages is the Chicago region’s premiere luxury senior community and memory care neighborhood. 

Heuer comes to The Cottages/Charter with more than 25 years in senior management and nine years of experience in the senior living industry overseeing independent, assisted and memory care communities throughout the region.
