Lane closures coming on Route 30 in Plainfield, Aurora and Oswego

Lane closures will take place along Route 30 in Plainfield, Aurora and Oswego, beginning Monday, weather permitting, according to an Illinois Department of Transportation news release.

The closures are necessary for a resurfacing project.

In order to complete the work, lane closures will take place in both directions on Route 30 from Lincoln Station Drive to 143rd Street with flaggers to guide traffic through the work zone. Daytime and overnight closures will be used when necessary.

The scope of the project consists of resurfacing and pavement patching, as well as sidewalk improvements that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The overall project is expected to be completed this summer.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.

Updates on impacts to traffic are available at www.travelmidwest.com.
