JOLIET – The Joliet Franciscan Sisters invite you to join them for an hour of prayer and reflection on the theme of Hope.
Join them 7 p.m. April 25 at the Joliet Franciscan Center, 1433 Essington Road, Joliet. There will be light refreshments provided after the prayer. All are welcome and there is no cost to attend.
The JPIC Commission of the Joliet Franciscan Sisters invites the public to view the film, “Before the Flood,” at the Joliet Franciscan Center from 1 to 3:30 p.m. April 29.
The film follows Leonardo DeCaprio as he meets scientist, activists and world leaders to discuss climate change and possible solutions. The film was first released in October, 2016 on the National Geographic Channel.
This presentation is free of charge and refreshments will be served and discussion will follow after the film.
The Joliet Franciscan Sisters have partnered with Unity Productions Foundation, in the Chicago Film premiere of “The Sultan and the Saint.”
This film is a docudrama which takes place during the Crusades and it recounts how Saint Francis of Assisi risked his life by walking across enemy lines to meet the Sultan of Egypt, the Muslim ruler Al-Malik al Kamil, in order to obtain peace.
“The Sultan and the Saint” is based on a true story and it is narrated by Academy Award Winner, Jeremy Irons.
“The Sultan and the Saint” will take place 3 p.m. April 30 at the McAninch Arts Center (The MAC) at the College of Dupage located at 425 Fawell Blvd in Glen Ellyn.
