CHICAGO - A Will County attorney will have his law license suspended for 18 months.
The Illinois Supreme Court announced Thursday that Dennis B. Porick was sanctioned for violating state ethics law. According to the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, Porick converted over $10,000 from three separate clients he was representing in collection matters for his own use.
"He also endorsed two of his clients' names to checks he received on their behalf without the clients' authorization," the ARDC reported.
Porick was licensed to practice law in 1982 but his office at 63 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet has been closed. His suspension will start on June 8, according to the ARDC.
