CREST HILL - A Romeoville man was arrested Friday after allegedly going to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex.

Tomasz Potkaj, 31, had actually been communicating online with a Will County Sheriff's deputy, according to police. Potkaj was charged with traveling to meet a minor for sexual purposes and grooming a minor for sexual purposes.

According to prosecutors, Potkaj arranged to meet with the girl Friday morning in a McDonald's parking lot, but was taken into custody instead.

Will County Sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said Potkaj had condoms when he was taken into custody. "He was interviewed and made statements implicating himself," she noted.

Potkaj was booked into the Will County jail and released Saturday afternoon after posting a $100,000 bond. Jail and court records indicate different Romeoville addresses for Potkaj, who filed for divorce earlier this month.
