JOLIET - Two brothers in separate apartments were arrested Friday as police investigated drug sales in Lois Place.
Deputy Chief Ed Gregory said police executed "simultaneous search warrants" at 9:36 a.m. at second floor units at 1001 Lois Place and 1005 Lois Place.
"This was an investigation into Lashawn Williams and Drakarr D. Williams, dealing from the apartments," Gregory said.
According to police reports, Lashawn Williams occupied an apartment at 1005 Lois Place where officers found a stolen handgun and ammunition.
"Lab results are pending, and it is expected drug charges will be filed as well," Gregory noted.
Drakarr Williams was home at the 1001 Lois Place apartment, where police found another handgun with the serial number scratched out, Gregory said.
"In that unit they also found meth, heroin and drug equipment," Gregory said.
Lashawn Williams was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Drakarr Williams was arrested on charges of delivery of drugs, drug possession, unlawful use of a weapon, defacing the identifiying markings of a firearm and obstructing a police officer.
