Woman charged with attacking Will County Board speaker jailed again

FRANKFORT TOWNSHIP — An old woman charged with attacking the speaker of the Will County board was jailed for allegedly violating a protective order.

Armella Frankowski, 80, of Mokena, was arrested Friday and charged with violating an order or protection against Will County Board Speaker Jim Moustis.

Deputies were dispatched around noon to 11000 Lincoln Highway in Frankfort Township where Frankowski was. She told the deputies she was there to play bingo. The address was protected under a stalking/no contact order.

According to Kathy Hoffmeyer of the Will County Sheriff's Office, Frankowski said she felt she was able to be at the address because the person she was ordered to stay away from was not there. She was then taken into custody.

The initial report did not say if Moustis was at the building, what kind of a building it was or who called the authorities.

Moustis filed the order of protection in December 2016 after Frankowski “verbally and physically attacked” him following the county board meeting that month. Frankowski has been involved in multiple order of protection cases both as a plaintiff and a defendant according to Will County Court records.

Calls to Moustis's were not returned as of Friday.
