The Slammers' Ridge Hoopii-Haslam catches a fly ball in a game this season. On Wednesday, he homered and had three RBIs in Joliet's 6-5 loss in 10 innings at Traverse City.

After seeing an early lead slip away, the Joliet Slammers were able to force extra innings before eventually dropping a 6-5 decision in 10 innings in Wednesday’s Frontier League game at Traverse City.

The Slammers scored three times in the first inning and took a 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the fifth, but the Beach Bums got three runs in that inning and added two more in the next inning to help them rally for a 5-4 lead, which they carried into the ninth.

In that inning, Luis Diaz scored on a grounder by David Gonzalez to force a 5-5 tie. In the 10th, however, Jeff DeBlieux singled in the winning run for Traverse City, which pounded out 14 hits against three Slammers pitchers.

In the first inning, Ridge Hoopii-Haslam (2 for 5, three RBIs) tripled in two runs and scored on a single by Edwin Gomez. Hoopii-Haslam put the Slammers up, 4-0, when he homered in the fifth. Melvin Rodriguez also went 2 for 5 for the Slammers, who finished with 10 hits.
