Why Stogsdill was selected:

She won a pair of invitationals to give her a fourth first-place finish in four races this season. After sharing a title with teammate Megan Patton in North's relay invite on Tuesday, she took first in the Twilight in the Woods meet in Seneca to help the Tigers win both events.

Herald-News sports writer Curt Herron talked with Stogsdill.

Herron: Why did you start running cross country?

Stogsdill: I played soccer so I felt like I could run for awhile, I did track in middle school and really liked it and the girls on the team were really nice and kind of convinced me.

Herron: Which do you like better, cross country or track and field?

Stogsdill: We're more of a family in cross country and I like running in the woods and having the different courses rather than just running on a circle. But I also like the variety of events that you can do in track.

Herron: What makes your team so special?

Stogsdill: We're like a family and we care about each other.

Herron: What are your goals for this year?

Stogsdill: We're hoping to qualify again as a team and I'd like to get all-state and be top-15.

Herron: Do you have any superstitions when you compete?

Stogsdill: I always have a special headband and I have to have my hair in a certain way, depending on the race. And I also have lucky socks.

Herron: What do you like about Plainfield North?

Stogsdill: I like how we're good at sports and our education is good. We're a bigger school, but not too big, so they can focus on students.

Herron: Who's your favorite athlete?

Stogsdill: Jordan Hasay, a professional for the Nike Oregon Project.

Herron: What's your favorite TV show?

Stogsdill: I like The Office

Herron: What's your favorite movies?

Stogsdill: There's too many movies that I like, but I'd say the Disney films.

Herron: Who's your favorite actress or actor?

Stogsdill: I like Rob Lowe.

Herron: What type of music do you like?

Stogsdill: Whatever is on the radio, like pop.

Herron: What's your favorite type of food and restaurant?

Stogsdill: I like pasta and pizza and I like an Italian restaurant called Capri in downtown Plainfield.

Herron: Who's a celebrity that you'd like to meet?

Stogsdill: John Krasinski, who was on The Office.

Herron: What college do you like?

Stogsdill: My dad went to Purdue, so I like that.

Herron: What do you do in your spare time?

Stogsdill: I like to play with my dog, Hickory, a Mini Goldendoodle who comes to me races, and also play basketball.
