JOLIET – Des Plaines Street will be closed at Jefferson Street through Sunday, the city of Joliet announced.
Motorists will not be able to turn right off Jefferson onto Des Plaines due to construction related to the completion of the downtown sewer main project, the city said in a news release on Tuesday.
The location is just east of the Jefferson Street bridge, where some lanes have been closed for the downtown project.
The city recommends using McDonough Street as an alternative route into downtown.
