NEW LENOX – The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago at Silver Cross Hospital (also known as The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab) has been accredited for a period of three years by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International.

This is the sixth time that the inpatient rehabilitation program at Silver Cross has received CARF accreditation.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards.

An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. RIC at Silver Cross has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable and of the highest quality

Rehabilitation services are provided by an accomplished team of health professionals, including physiatrists, which are physicians that specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation, occupational and physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and rehabilitation nurses.
