Football roundup: Lombardi leads Wilmington past Reed-Custer

BRAIDWOOD – Matteo Lombardi ran for 293 yards on 11 carries and scored on runs of 70, 87, 84 and 6 yards to lead Wilmington to a 54-21 Interstate 8 Small win over Reed-Custer.

Brock Boiser scored two touchdowns, including one on a fumble recovery for Wilmington (6-1, 5-0), which rushed for 508 yards and led 47-14 at halftime. For the Comets, Josh Loomis (11-for-23, 224 yards passing) threw touchdowns of 36 and 23 yards to Russell Page (seven catches, 151 yards).

Lemont 42, Tinley Park 0: Mark Mathias was 15-of-20 for 150 yards, threw two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Indians (6-1, 4-0). Anthony Martin gained 112 yards on 16 carries and scored a touchdown, Matt Slee caught eight passes for 75 yards and a score, and Anthony Sambucci had four receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Bolingbrook 45, Thornridge 8: Quentin Pringle and Anthony Williams each scored two touchdowns and Anthony Vespo hit 8-of-11 passes for 188 yards and two scores for the Raiders (6-1, 4-1). I’Shawn Stewart had four catches for 125 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown catch, and Luke Junkroski added a 5-yard touchdown reception.  

Coal City 27, Sandwich 20 (OT): Payton Hutchings had a one-yard touchdown run in overtime for the Coalers (6-1, 4-1). Connor Skubic scored on runs of 30, two and three yards.

Peotone 49, Seneca 0: The Blue Devils (6-1, 4-1) posted their second straight shutout, holding Seneca to four first downs. Chandler Gartner rushed for 112 yards and scored three touchdowns as he eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the third consecutive season. Dillon Buege added a pair of touchdowns and had a game-high 118 yards. Junior Brandon Bias chipped in with 61 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan Brewer picked up 93 rushing yards.
 Momence 43, Dwight 10: The Trojans (3-4, 1-3) dropped the Sangamon Valley game.
