Conduct science experiments that are in the movies Nov. 18 at Romeoville university

ROMEOVILLE – Have you ever wondered if the cool science you see in movies is even possible?

The Lewis University Electrochemical Society is hosting the “Science in Cinema” event from 9:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 18 18 in the Science Center on the main campus in Romeoville. The event is free and open to the public.

“Science in Cinema” will show a small movie clip from such movies as “Back to the Future,” “Twister,” “Mission: Impossible” and “Flubber,” followed by a relevant science project. There will be four 25-minute rotations where the films will be viewed followed by the correlated activity:

“Flubber” - Creating your own homemade slime

"Back to the Future” - Experiments revolving around electricity

"Twister” - Experiments related to weather

"Mission Impossible” - Students will try to successfully work their way through a laser maze
