To the Editor:
Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet has removed all memorials and mementos on our loved ones’ graves without contacting the families.
They threw them all in a pile and most items were broken. We could not find any of our loved ones’ memorials, and other people were just taking things that were not theirs.
We think this was very wrong of the cemetery to do without contacting family members first.
A lot of us cannot afford a grave marker right after we bury our loved ones, and these memorials are all we have to remind us of our loved ones who are buried there.
I believe this is very ignorant of Elmhurst Cemetery to do to all of us people who have loved ones buried in their cemetery.
