Two dead from car crash in Manhattan Township

MANHATTAN TOWNSHIP – Two people are dead after a two-vehicle crash Sunday in Manhattan Township.

Eric R. Seely, 22, of Monee appeared to be the driver of a vehicle with an unidentified male passenger, the Will County coroner said. Seely’s vehicle collided with a semitractor-trailer at the intersection of Wilmington-Peotone Road and Cedar Road. They were pronounced dead at 6:20 a.m.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.

An autopsy for Seely is scheduled for Monday.

The unidentified male passenger’s name is being withheld and will be verified through scientific means.
