NEW LENOX – A military Humvee and its trailer rolled over in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 on Wednesday morning near New Lenox, narrowing traffic to one lane.
An Army National Guard Humvee and its trailer rolled over just after 10:45 a.m. Wednesday on I-80 westbound about a half mile east of Route 30. Westbound traffic was down to one lane, and motorists lined up past the previous exit. The snarl ended near the Parker Road overpass.
New Lenox firefighters responded to a report of an overturned vehicle, Fire Chief Adam Riegel said. They cleared the scene just after 11:15 a.m.
A spokesperson for Illinois State Police District 5 said no one was injured in the incident. It was not clear how the Humvee rolled over late Wednesday morning, and Illinois State Police were on the scene investigating the incident.
