Four people were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries because of a four-vehicle crash that happened Sunday night.
Illinois State police responded at 5:44 p.m. to an accident that involved two tractor-trailers and two passenger vehicles, Trooper DeAnn Falat said.
Two occupants from one tractor-trailer and both occupants of the passenger vehicles were taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox with minor injuries that were not life-threatening, state police said.
The crash happened on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 144 near Mokena.
All eastbound traffic was shut down for an hour and a half because of metal debris that spread through all lanes of traffic.
