JOLIET – Nine new Illinois State Police troopers were assigned to District 5 after graduating from the ISP Academy on Dec. 22, according to a news release.
"It is with great excitement that we welcome these new troopers to District 5," ISP District 5 Commander Capt. Darryl Bogard said in the release.
"We look forward to their successful completion of the Field Training Program and anticipate their future contributions to District 5," Bogard said.
The nine troopers were a part of Cadet Class 126 throughout their 25 weeks of training in Springfield. As they begin a 14-week Field Training Program, they will be patrolling in Will, Grundy and Kendall counties.
The news release went on to say that the troopers' training will prepare them for the demanding challenges they'll face in upholding the ISP's commitment to "integrity, service and pride."
