To the Editor:
I read with some annoyance the letter from the Lockport resident who complained about the rules of recycling put out by Waste Management.
This was a very good and helpful article, by the way. Wash your garbage before recycling, Susan. Well, it isn’t garbage, but yes. A quick rinse of a bottle or jar is all that is needed in most cases.
We have been recycling for more than 20 years and no one needed to tell me to rinse a bottle, that’s common sense.
And most of the pizza boxes I have seen have an inner cardboard circle that can be thrown away. The rest of it is usually clean.
Waste Management is doing a good job educating the public. We can all do our part.
