JOLIET – A Crest Hill man allegedly punched his son several times for intervening in an argument between his mother and him at a Wendy’s in Joliet, police said.
On Wednesday evening, the 19-year-old son of Jblas Delacruz, 42, of the 2200 block of Parkrose Avenue in Crest Hill tried to intervene in an argument Delacruz was having with his mother at the 110 S. Larkin Ave. Wendy’s.
After the son intervened, Delacruz allegedly punched him several times in the face, causing swelling and discoloration to the teen's left eye and bleeding from his nose, said Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory.
Delacruz’s mother called the cops, Gregory said. Delacruz left the Wendy's but when he returned, he was arrested by officers who arrived at the scene, he said.
Delacruz was charged with domestic battery and booked into the Will County jail.
