JOLIET – The students of St. Mary Nativity School in Joliet thought about the children in Winfield receiving medical care and their families.

The grade school students collected hand sanitizer, lip balm, slipper socks, puzzle books, gelatin cups and fruit snacks for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

In September, on the students’ all school retreat, the students prayed, colored cards and packed the supplies into bags to be distributed to the families temporarily living at the house.

This activity was a tangible way for them to display their love of neighbor, which was the theme of the day: love of God and love of neighbor.
