JOLIET – The Rialto Square Theatre on Friday announced two big acts featuring legends of popular music.
The Temptations and The Four Tops will team up for a single show on June 15.
On April 3, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo will perform.
Tickets for both shows go on sale Jan. 26.
"R&B legends of nearly 60 years, The Temptations were lauded by Billboard in 2017 as the number one R&B artists of all-time," the Rialto said in its news release announcing the performance. "Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, The Temptations will be playing their classics in addition to tracks off their first new album in eight years, "All the Time."
The Four Tops were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and were among Rolling Stone magazine's "100 Greatest Artists of All Time."
"A product of Detroit, Michigan, The Four Tops helped define the city's Motown sound dating back to the '60s," the Rialto said.
The Rialto performance starts at 8 p.m.
Tickets will be priced at $48.50, $63.50 and $78.50.
Benatar and Giraldo
Benatar and Giraldo "will share their collection of hits in a stripped down, acoustic version," the Rialto said.
"It will be an intimate setting that will allow fans to experience the true power of the music while hearing the stories behind the songs," the Rialto said. "Since 1979, Benatar and Giraldo have formed one of the most successful partnerships in music history."
The Rialto noted that Benatar and Giraldo in a four-decade career have won four Grammy awards and three American Music awards.
Their hit songs include "Promises in the Dark," "Hell Is for Children," "We Live for Love," "Love Is a Battlefield," "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," and "We Belong."
Ticket prices are $53.50, $63.50 and $78.50.
Tickets for the Temptations and Four Tops show go on sale at 10 a.m. Benatar and Giraldo tickets go on sale at noon.
