Police provide few details on ‘incident’ in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD – The Plainfield Police Department put out a vague post with few details on its Facebook page Sunday night about an “incident” that left two people injured and two juveniles arrested.

The post said police responded to Edward Hospital in Plainfield about 7 p.m. Saturday in regard to two separate individuals seeking treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening, which were determined to be related to the same incident.

The post went on to say, “The incident began at the McDonald’s at 135th and Route 30 and continued to the deadend of Van Dyke Road adjacent to the Wallin Woods subdivision.” But the incident in question was not actually described by the post.

Plainfield Police Chief John Konopek refused to give information when asked about the nature of the “incident,” and said he could not provide any details Sunday.

The Facebook post went on to say police investigated and identified two juvenile offenders. They were taken into custody and criminally charged.
