JOLIET – Englebert Humperdinck is coming to the Rialto Square Theatre on April 21.
The Rialto on Friday announced that it has booked the English singer whose music has spanned six decades with hits that include “Release Me” and “The Last Waltz.”
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 2. Humperdinck has sold more than 140 million records, including 64 gold albums and 35 platinum albums, the Rialto said in a news release announcing the 8 p.m. performance in Joliet.
He emerged in the 1960s and has continued to perform, releasing albums as recently as 2017, and touring.
“He has performed for the queen four times, several presidents and many heads of state,” the Rialto said. “He has recorded everything from the most romantic ballads to movie theme songs, disco, rock, and even gospel.”
The Rialto noted that Humperdinck “even managed to strike a new chord with a younger generation after appearing on MTV several times.”
Ticket prices are $48.50, $58.50 and $73.50. They will be available online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 815-745-3000, and at the Rialto box office at 102 N. Chicago St.
