On Nov. 22, Lincoln-Way East’s medical anatomy and physiology classes donated items for Lullaby Birthplace through Franciscan St. James Hospital.
This program’s purpose is to provide goods to new mothers in the area. The classes collected over 100 items for this cause that included blankets, clothing, toys and books.
The Lincoln-Way East classes and teachers wanted to assist with this program because of the relationship Lincoln-Way East has with St. James Hospital. The hospital has allowed students to shadow professionals since 2008 as part of the medical anatomy and physiology course.
Through this course, students are able to see a variety of jobs within the hospital for a semester. The kindness of the hospital personnel fueled the students’ desire to assist with this great program.
