Why Anderson was selected: The senior took first at 220 pounds and helped Providence to win the Class 3A Bradley-Bourbonnais Regional title.
The Herald-News sports writer Curt Herron talked with Anderson.
Herron: What do you like the most about wrestling?
Anderson: It's all on yourself and you decide if you win or lose.
Herron: What do you like the most about your team?
Anderson: They're fun to be with and there's some clowns on the team, including myself. We know when it's showtime and when it's time to be kids.
Herron: What do you like the most about competing for Providence?
Anderson: I'm a three-sport athlete and when you put the jersey with the sacred heart on it, you have tradition to follow and you're playing for the people who wore it before you.
Herron: Who's someone that you'd like to meet?
Anderson: Mike Singletary.
Herron: Who's you're favorite teams and athlete?
Anderson: The White Sox and Baker Mayfield.
Herron: Do you have any pets?
Anderson: I have two dogs, Mickey, who's a cocker spaniel-English springer mix, and Milo, who's a pug-shih tzu-Yorkie mix.
Herron: What do you like to do in your free time?
Anderson: Hanging out with friends or at home or at one of my sister's cheer competitions.
Herron: What's your favorite class and what's your future plans?
Anderson: American government. I'm either going to play football or baseball in college.
Herron: What's your favorite food and restaurant?
Anderson: Chicken Parmesan and Fuji's in Orland Park.
Herron: What music do you like?
Anderson: My favorite two are probably rap and country.
Herron: What's your favorite TV show?
Anderson: I like 'Blue Mountain State' on Netflix.
Herron: What's the most interesting place that you've been and where would you like to visit?
Anderson: Cooperstown, New York. I'd like to visit Hawaii.
