VVSD names superintendent of human resources

The Valley View School District 365U Board of Education has approved the promotion of Judith Zito-Nash to the position of assistant superintendent of human resources.

Nash will succeed Sharon Hawks on July 1. Hawks is retiring at the end of the school year. Nash is currently VVSD’s director of professional development, a position she has held since 2013.

Nash began serving in VVSD in 2004, when she was hired as assistant principal at B.J. Ward Elementary School. After four years at B.J. Ward, Nash became professional development coordinator for VVSD. She served in that position for five years before assuming her current role.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign followed by completion of her law degree in 1996 at John Marshall Law School.

She is a member of the Illinois Bar and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. In 1999, she earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Governors State University, then her doctor of education degree from the University of St. Francis in 2017.

Nash resides in Channahon with her family.

She served her community as member of the Village of Channahon Board of Trustees until 2013.
