Heartland promotes Nino to retail manager
Heartland Bank and Trust Company proudly announces that Gloria Nino has been promoted to retail manager in Elwood.
Nino is located at the bank’s 430 E. Mississippi Ave. office. She is responsible for ensuring value and top-of-the-line service to bank customers and overseeing retail employee development and training.
Nino has over 20 years banking experience, and most recently served as Retail Supervisor for the bank. During her career at Heartland Bank she also held positions as Teller Supervisor and Retail Lead.
She lives in Garfield Ridge with her husband Antonio and children. She graduated from Northwestern College, is bilingual and a Notary Public. Nino enjoys volunteering at community events in the area and spending time with her family.

Laser Poducts celebrates two milestones
Laser Products Industries (LPI) recently announced that the company has reached two important corporate milestones with global sales of its digital measuring systems topping 5,000 lasers and simultaneously reaching a record 3,000 customers.

Midwest Association of Rail Shippers elects 2018 officers
The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS) elected its 2018 slate of officers at the annual winter meeting earlier in January.
The 2018 MARS officers are:

Romeoville receives fourth consecutive award for excellence in financial reporting
The Village of Romeoville is once again the recipient of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2017 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the 4th consecutive year. This speaks to our commitment to providing financials that meet the highest standards of communication and accountability to the public,” said Mayor John Noak.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The Romeoville annual report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to fully communicate its financial story.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving nearly 19,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the only national awards program in governmental financial reporting.
