BOLINGBROOK – A Romeoville man was arrested for allegedly following his ex-girlfriend and threatening her with a handgun.
Luis M. Ugalde, 27, of the 200 block of Hayes Avenue in Romeoville, was booked into the Will County jail Friday on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, resisting a police officer, domestic battery and possessing a firearm without a valid firearm owner’s identification card.
The incident began when Bolingbrook officers were dispatched to investigate a report of domestic battery and a subject being threatened with a handgun in the 1300 block of Remington Boulevard in Bolingbrook at 5:30 a.m., police said.
Ugalde had allegedly fled the scene by the time police arrived. Officers were told Ugalde allegedly followed the victim to her place of employment and upon arrival, he pushed her and threatened her with the gun. The ex-girlfriend was able to get inside her place of work and the police were notified.
Officers went to Ugalde’s home and made contact with him there. He tried to run but was taken into custody and was taken to the Will County jail, according to police.
Ugalde remained in custody Friday afternoon and was scheduled to appear in court Saturday morning.
