JOLIET – A Joliet man allegedly was allowed to enter the home of a woman he later punched and choked, police said.
About 7 p.m. Tuesday, Kevin A. Bonds Sr., 58, of the 3600 block of Pandola Avenue, came over to a 46-year-old woman’s residence in the 500 block of Bellarmine Drive, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said in an email.
Bonds was reportedly allowed by the woman to enter her home. She alleged that he punched and choked her while at the residence.
Police officers arrived at the scene and arrested Bonds on charges of aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery.
Bonds was booked into the Will County jail. His bond was set at $75,000.
In 2012, Bonds was charged with domestic battery. The case was headed to a jury trial, but the charge was dropped, according to court records. In the same year, Bonds was charged with retail theft. That charge also was later dropped.
In 1999, Bonds pleaded guilty to theft.
