JOLIET – A Joliet man was arrested for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia, cocaine and cash gained from drug sales, police said.
About 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, police officers served a search warrant at a home in the 800 block of Elizabeth Street, where they recovered drug paraphernalia, cocaine and cash that were possessed by Cleophus
McKinnis, 48, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said.
Gregory said the police believe the cash was proceeds from drug sales.
McKinnis was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug equipment. He was booked into the Will County jail, and his bond was set at $150,000.
In 2007, McKinnis pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to three years in prison. In 2003, McKinnis was arrested by Joliet police on a charge of aggravated battery with a weapon. In about a month, a trial court determined there was no probable cause to charge
McKinnis, and he was released form custody.
