JOLIET – Lindsay Gloor is the new associate editor of The Herald-News.
Gloor comes to Joliet from the DeKalb Daily Chronicle, where she worked as a reporter. Prior to that, Gloor was a digital reporter for Shaw Media, covering breaking news and creating innovative multimedia packages for the company's Chicago properties, including The Herald-News.
"We're thrilled Lindsay is back in Joliet," said Herald-News editor Joe Hosey. "We're looking forward to doing some great work now that Lindsay's joined our newsroom team."
Gloor is a graduate of the University of Missouri. She lived and worked in Barcelona, Spain, for several months while in college, where she assisted a Spanish artist in promoting his brand online and learned to problem solve quickly in new situations within a foreign culture.
Gloor was the president of her college sorority, Sigma Kappa (Epsilon Mu), and was the secretary of Center Stage, a student-run organization that provides free dance classes to children in Columbia, Missouri.
"I'm ecstatic to take on this new role at The Herald-News and am excited to be back in the Joliet area," Gloor said. "I'm always open to tips and suggestions — please reach out."
Gloor grew up in Naperville and graduated from Benet Academy in Lisle.
