The Our Lady’s Honor Guard at St. Mary Immaculate Parish School conducted a May Crowning on May 8.
This honor guard consists of eighth grade girls who chosen write an essay telling how Mary has influenced their lives. These essays are then read anonymously and the top essays are chosen.
During the crowning ceremony, the eighth graders recited a pledge that is a dedication to Mary.
Also in attendance were the first communicants dressed in their First Communion outfits. The children sang songs dedicated to Mary, including "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman," and they sang and signed the Hail Mary.
