U.S. Congressman Dan Lipinski, D-Western Springs, will be hosting multiple events for residents of the 3rd District this summer, including a town hall meeting, a veterans fair and two senior fairs.
The 3rd Congressional District includes all or parts of Lockport, Crest Hill, Romeoville, Homer Glen and Lemont, among other southwest suburbs, and stretches to the southwest side of Chicago.
“I encourage residents of the 3rd District to come to my upcoming town hall meeting, veterans fair and senior fairs,” Lipinski said in a news release. “As your representative in Washington, ... it is critical that I hear from you. These events will be great opportunities for you to get assistance with federal issues and learn about the wide array of constituent services my office provides.”
The town hall meeting will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. June 30 at the Holiday Inn at Midway Airport, 6624 S. Cicero Ave. in Chicago. Congressional staff will be available starting at 9 a.m. for assistance with federal agencies, Medicare, Social Security, veterans’ benefits and other federal matters.
At the town hall, residents will be able to hear from Lipinski on his work in Washington, and they’ll be able to voice their opinions.
There will be a senior fair at the Lockport American Legion Post 18 from 10 a.m. until noon July 6. The post is located at 15052 Archer Ave.
The senior fair gives district residents an opportunity to get assistance with a variety of issues from Lipinski’s staff and local organizations, agencies and businesses that provide services for seniors.
The veterans fair will be from 10 a.m. to noon July 2 at the Oremus Community Center, located at 7900 S. Oketo Ave. in Bridgeview. The Illinois and U.S. Departments of Veterans Affairs and other organizations will join Lipinski’s staff to assist with issues such as military personnel, medical records, veterans’ claims and benefits, medals earned but not received, VA Hospital billing, GI Bill information and more.
