The lost animals of Romeoville now have a little more space to roam with the opening of a new animal control shelter on Anderson Drive.

The facility has nine kennels, two of which are larger, according to a news release from the village.

All kennels have individual doors that connect to outer kennels, so animals can get fresh air.

“Some very passionate people have been behind this project,” Mayor John Noak said. “We’ve had a lot of ... donations to getting the new animal control shelter built.”
