A Crest Hill massage parlor employee pleaded guilty to prostitution and will be required to undergo one year of court supervision.
On Sept. 4, Baoxia Li, 53, of the 200 block of West 19th Street, Chicago, pleaded guilty to prostitution. She was ordered to pay a $500 fine and sentenced to one year of court supervision. A Will County judge allowed the conviction to be withheld in lieu of her sentence, according to court records.
On March 22, Li was charged by Crest Hill police with propositioning a man and an undercover police officer at I Spa, 2218 Plainfield Road, where she worked. She initially pleaded not guilty to the charge and intended to take the case to trial. Instead, she waived her right to a jury and bench trial and pleaded guilty to the offense, which is a misdemeanor.
Li’s attorney, Dominick Dolci, declined to comment on the case.
A man had reported to Crest Hill police that he was propositioned by one of the employees of I Spa when he went there for a massage, Crest Hill Deputy Police Chief Tony Rossetti said.
An undercover police officer went in, and Li allegedly patted his groin and propositioned him, Rossetti said. Shortly thereafter, she was arrested.
