3rd annual Pints and Pork Challenge is Sept. 29

The 3rd annual Pints and Pork Challenge will be presented by St. Joseph’s Church in Manhattan from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 29 at 255 W. North St.

Prizes will be awarded for best beer, best pork and best beer and pork pairing. Other features include games of bags, a split-the-pot raffle, bonfire pits under the stars and music by acoustic singer/songwriter Casey Moss.

Participating breweries will be 350 Brewing, Alter Brewing, ArrowheadAles Brewing Co., Evil Horse Brewing, Noon Whistle Brewery, Oak Park Brewing Co., Mokena Brewing Co., Elmhurst Brewing Co. and Brick StoneBrewing Co.

Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the gate. Proceeds benefit the parish.

Each ticket includes beer and barbecue, a keepsake glass and a ballot to vote on the food and beer. Each brewer brings two craft beers to sample. The pit masters each will cook 40 pounds of pork.
