The Black Bar Association of Will County is hosting a candidates forum from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Sept. 27 at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Joliet.

The forum will feature candidates for office in the races for sheriff, circuit judge, county clerk, county treasurer, Will County Board District 9 and the Illinois General Assembly “for a discussion on their plans and platforms for the City of Joliet,” according to a flyer.

The BBA is collaborating with other Joliet area organizations to put on the candidates forum including the NAACP Joliet Branch, the Joliet Black Police Officers Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Mu Omega Chapter, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Eta Chi Zeta Chapter and the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Iota Rho Sigma Chapter. The sponsoring organizations are nonpartisan and do not endorse any candidate running for public office.
