A 49-year-old Grant Park man is facing a driving under the influence charge after he crashed head on with another vehicle, resulting in a 17-year-old boy's death Tuesday night in eastern Will County.

John Parchem was driving south on Route 1, just north of County Line Road about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Washington Township, according to an Illinois State Police news release. Parchem then crossed into the northbound lane and crashed into the vehicle Daniel S. Gradilla was driving.

Gradilla was ejected and later died. Parchem was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, and was later charged with aggravated DUI, pending additional charges.

State police continued to investigate the incident Wednesday.
