A 22-year-old Lockport woman died Monday after her car left Interstate 80, struck a tree and rolled over.
Illinois State Police responded about 1 p.m. to eastbound I-80 just east of Houbolt Road for a reported crash, according to a news release.
Jeanine Ibrahim reportedly was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla east on the roadway when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the interstate, struck a tree and rolled. A Will County Coroner’s Office official pronounced Ibrahim dead on the scene.
She was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The incident drew multiple emergency vehicles. Police continued to investigate the crash’s cause Tuesday; Ibrahim’s vehicle was the only one involved.
