A U.S. Marshals Service task force caught and arrested a Bolingbrook man in Georgia.

The man was wanted on sex abuse charges in connection with an incident in Oswego, the Oswego Police Department recently announced.

Members of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Richard T. Aguilar, 30, of the 300 block of Whitewater Drive on Nov. 1 in McDonough, Georgia.

Aguilar was wanted on multiple charges, including aggravated criminal sexual abuse, indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a child and grooming – all felonies.

The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charges, and a Kendall County judge issued a warrant for Aguilar’s arrest Sept. 14, police said.

The charges were filed after a three-month investigation into a report of a sexual relationship between a man and a teenage girl.

Police began the investigation June 20 after it was alleged that Aguilar had developed an online relationship in February with a girl who was at least 13 years old but younger than 17.

He is said to have solicited the girl to perform unlawful sexual conduct in Oswego, police said.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, along with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force, began an investigation into Aguilar’s whereabouts after the criminal charges were filed, police said.

Aguilar’s bond was set at $500,000, and he is being held in the Henry County jail in Georgia, police said.
