To the Editor:
Bob Lemke’s letter of Nov. 15 is so appallingly misinformed and bigoted, it’s hard to know where to begin.
First of all, Rabbi Rubovits is right: it is all the same god. It is only how one perceives the Deity that is different, or in what one calls Him. Whether one calls Him (or, as I prefer, Her) Jehovah, Allah, God or Zoroaster, it is all one and the same. How one chooses to worship is the individual’s choice as predicated by the Doctrine of Free Will.
Surprise! Not all Christians believe in a Triune God, either. Many believe only in the Father and Son.
Idolatry is just that: worshiping idols. Defining idols is tricky, though. The crucifix could, and has been, considered an idol by many Christian denominations.
Which leads to one man’s miracle is another man’s definition of witchcraft; I refer you to the Catholic belief in trans-substantiation. More than one Christian martyr was executed as a witch, notably Joan of Arc, so, yes there are Good Witches.
Finally, while the Nazis incorporate “Socialist” into their name, they are extreme right wing, hence the Neo-Fascists’ preferred modern designation of “Alt-Right.” Bob has made that error before, but then why let the facts get in the way of a good rant?
